Important Clarification for Students with respect to misleading and false information related to court matters
07/08/2025
It has come to the notice of the authorities of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Mumbai (CPS) that certain misleading and false information is being circulated by anti-social elements to confuse and mislead the students by setting wrong narratives, alleging that CPS is conducting Super Specialty Courses such as Diploma in Cardiology, Diploma in Neurology, Diploma in Nephrology Diploma in Urology etc., in various States including Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and others. Further another misleading information saying that CPS is opposing/against conducting the examination of remaining registered CPS students; in-spite of the fact that CPS has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in Hon’ble Supreme Court in which one of the main prayers is to decide and give the directions for conducting the examinations of these students.
CPS firmly denies such baseless allegations, which are entirely unfounded and misleading.
CPS has already provided in writing to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) confirming that:
• CPS shall not conduct any Super Specialty PG Diploma Courses such as Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Urology etc., even if such courses are recognised under respective State Medical Council Acts.
• CPS shall not start any new course in any speciality without the prior approval of the MoHFW and or the National Medical Commission (NMC) apart from its existing Diploma and Fellowship courses.
In case of any doubt, students are advised to contact the authorities of CPS for further clarification (from their CPS registered e-mail) on cpsonline@cpsmumbai.org
